15-Day itinerary
"The Commander"
Day 1 - 22nd April - IstanbulWelcome to Istanbul where you will be transferred to your hotel in the heart of the old city, Sultanahmet. Here, you will meet your guide and the rest of your group. Overnight Istanbul 4*.
Day 2 - 23rd April - Istanbul to GallipoliAfter breakfast, enjoy a fully guided tour of the only city to span two continents, Europe and Asia. We visit the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, the Underground Cistern and the Hippodrome. This afternoon we head south towards Gallipoli. Overnight Canakkale 3*. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3 - 24th April - GallipoliToday we tour the Gallipoli peninsular including Lone Pine Australian Memorial and Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, ANZAC Cove, Johnston's Jolly and the Kaba Tepe Gallipoli Museum. Return to the hotel for a rest and dinner before a late departure to the site of the ANZAC Dawn Service. Keep warm in your sleeping bag under the stars with the thousands of others waiting for the sunrise. Overnight Canakkale 3*. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 4 - 25th April - ANZAC DayWait for the sunrise at the ANZAC Dawn Service and commemorate our fallen forefathers on this special day. Also attend the Australian &/or New Zealand Memorial services. Overnight Canakkale 3*. Breakfast/lunch box and Dinner.
Day 5 - 26th April - Gallipoli to Kusadasi via Troy & PergamumStep back in time today as we visit Troy, home of the famed Trojan Horse, followed by a tour of the magnificent acropolis of Pergamum. Its impressive temples, library and medical facilities made it a renowned cultural and political centre in its time. Overnight Kusadasi 4*. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 6 - 27th April - EphesusAbsorb yourself in history today with a guided tour of Ephesus. Walk down the Marble Road towards the Celsus Library and Grand Theatre. We also visit the former Greek village of Sirince, famous for its fruit wines, before a leather goods display. Overnight Kusadasi 4*. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 7 - 28th April - Kusadasi to Marmaris via PamukkaleToday we drive east for the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castles), followed by the ancient ruins of Hierapolis and a dip in the hot springs, which were used in Roman times for their therapeutic powers. We then head south to the seaside resort town of Marmaris. Overnight Marmaris 4*. Breakfast and Lunch.
Day 8 - 29th April - Marmaris to Fethiye via KoycegizToday enjoy a boat cruise around lake Koycegiz along the Dalyan river, pass the Kings Tombs, the Caunos Ruins and Turtle Beach. Overnight Fethiye 4*. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 9 - 30th April - Fethiye to Antalya via Saklikent GorgeSaklikent Gorge, the longest and deepest canyon in Turkey is 18kms long. Walk through icy water and battle numerous small waterfalls set in sculpted limestone canyon walls. Visit to the carpet village where learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value. Overnight Antalya 4*. Breakfast and Lunch.
Day 10 - 1st May - Antalya to Konya via Perge & AspendosToday we travel to Antalya visiting the ancient cities of Perge and Aspendos. Aspendos is known for its best-preserved theatre of antiquity with seating for 15,000 people. Still used today, the theatre's galleries, stage decorations and acoustics all testify to the architect's success. Overnight Konya 4*. Breakfast and Dinner.
Day 11 - 2nd May - Konya to Cappadocia via Ihlara ValleyToday we visit the Mevlana Museum. The Mevlevi order of whirling dervishes is a mystic group. En-route, we stop at the ancient Silk Road Caravanserai, before we trek through the wildly beautiful Ihlara Valley and explore Derinkuyu Underground City. Tonight, don't miss the optional Turkish folklore evening featuring folk and belly dancers … a night you won't forget! Overnight Cappadocia 4*. Breakfast and Lunch.
Day 12 - 3rd May - CappadociaMarvel at the lunar landscape of Cappadocia with a fully guided tour of Goreme Valley, the Fairy Chimneys and an open-air museum. Overnight Cappadocia 4*. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 13 - 4th May - Cappadocia to AnkaraToday we visit the nation's capital, Ankara, visiting the ANZAC and Freedom Museum and the Mausoleum of Ataturk. Overnight Ankara 4*. Breakfast and Lunch.
Day 14 - 5th May - Ankara to IstanbulToday we head towards Istanbul before boarding a boat for a cruise along the Bosphorus - the stretch of water separating Europe from Asia. Along the way, we stop at Rumeli Fortress and Beylerbeyi Place for the stunning views of Istanbul's highest point, Camlica. Overnight Istanbul 4*. Breakfast.
Day 15 - 6th May - IstanbulAfter breakfast, our tour concludes and we bid farewell to our new friends. Breakfast.
